We reccomend you make sure you use the best battery trays, with side support, stop wobble.
Also keep the battery's light as possible.
Let your tyres down on the rough stuff.

Don't use agm in the engine bay, they don't like heat & are too heavy. Optima's are the exception.
    This sucker is over 30kg.

This tray is not up to the job, it was not fitted properly either. Bad engineering.

    Smashing the vehicle to bits.

    Gaurds cracked both sides.

Not what you want to see happen to any vehicle, for sure.
The tray however recommends an ED5 Battery which grosses out at 22.1 Kg http://www.exidebatteries.com.au/bat...al-cycling/ED5
No doubt the manufacture would ask what battery was used and by whom was the tray installed.
Tyre pressure adjustments suitable to the terrain and modified speed could also help with longevity of the guard and battery tray.
I have also seen what a leaky/over full battery can do to the battery tray and guard, not pretty.
While it can be a PITA to do, the batteries should be periodically removed from the vehicle to inspect the condition and security of the tray, brackets, guards and terminals.
Thanks for sharing these pictures ####, serves as a reminder to all members with extra batteries fitted to monitor things under that engine hood.
      Cheers
