No power at cig lighter

Hello boys,
I've got no power in my cig lighter ( 09 1kd ) the 10 amp fuse in the cabin is OK was going to try and tap into it to power a relay to run power to my caravan plug , on my 1kz I picked up power from the under bonnet fusebox when ignition was switched on , can't find a supply on the 1kd,
Any info appreciated.

If the fuse is good have you checked that the plug is fastened/connected properly?

Hi Bushbasher,
Sorry mate by the plug being fastened/ connected properly do you mean the van plug ?
If so all is good ,
put one of them chargers with light on in the cigarette lighter socket and not lighting up ,
Haven't tried to get to the back of the lighter socket yet to check it out if that's what you mean ,don't want to break any plastic cover clips.suppose I will have to give it a go.

There is a useful wires thread in the 120 section but I can't find it, maybe in 120 general?

put one of them chargers with light on in the cigarette lighter socket and not lighting up ,

Sorry Bushbasher got a tester and volt meter most of the bits to check, its just getting to the back of the lighter to check it out don't want to break any thing , don't suppose it will pull out with a pair of pliers.?

If you have a little light or accessory, plug it into the cig lighter or alternatively use the multi meter to see if there's power at the lighter. If no power then have a look at the fuze under the dash:



If the fuse is good see if there is power across the fuse terminals. If there is power then it has to be the lighter. To access the lighter use a trim prise tool or small flat blade screw driver and prise the two silver console trims. Prise and lift upwards from the rear:




Once the two trims have been removed, grasp the two silver vent trims from the lower edge and pull them slightly outwards:


Don't pull them all the way otherwise you will remove them and the upper aircon vents. Next, with the ashtray removed, put your hand into the void where the tray sits and grasp the plastic trim and pull it towards you exposing the cig lighter:



You can check the plug at the rear of the lighter, make sure accessories is on with ignition key to provide power to the lighter.

Thanks for your input and picks,
Fuse is good , checked connections where fuse goes with key on acc, multimeter showing 0 to .3 volts , tried a test lamp no luck so that tells me it's before the fuse I have to start looking? Will get my Gregory's manual out and see if I can make head nor tail of it .

Did refere to previous posts, All fuses under bonnet ok , as they all are in the car ,on my fuse box lid under bonnet it does show a smaller relay( blue half size ) with ACC CUT on it ,not sure how to check it but took it out and radio still working on ACC ignition ,( all the other relays seem to have obvious markings on them ) as is the 120 watt plug and the rear cig lighter, know the 120 W is on different fuse ,
Was going to get to the back of the cigarette lighter as Bushbasher suggested but thinking a waste of time if no power from fuse ? .

If the fuse has no power you need to look back towards the main fuse block under the bonnet. I don't have a 120 so I can't help what to look for.

The cig lighter is powered via the ignition switch from the AM1 50 amp relay in the main fuse box under the bonnet through to the 15 amp in the under dash fuse box.

Checked it Bushbasher all ok with the ohmmeter checked every fuse in the car all good swopped the 50s around also ,
Going by Gregory's manual it's off the ACC relay, ( swopped them also ) goes from the coil in the relay to 7.5 amp fuse ( also shows it looping back to a BCM body control module ) then to the 10 amp under the dash, and the lid diagram shows the 10 amp fuse.
Thinking it must be the lighter unit itself, got to get it out and check it.
