  • Headlight Circuit Issues

Hi all, here is the issue...once again appreciate the help...

    Right side headlight works fine
    Left side not working
When I remove the fuse for the RIGHT side, both lights come on with only half beam (so splitting the voltage of one light between both)

obviously a short somewhere, but before I have to rip all the circuitry apart I just thought if you guys have any ideas or tests that could help locate the problem I could try them first?

I do have a duel battery setup and I have taken the other battery out of the car while checking.

I really don't believe that the original Toyota circuit could be to blame but if anyone else has had issues this is the place to come.

Do you have spotlights or lightbar? Possibly the tap for these has corroded, shorted etc especially if done with a Scotchlok.

Yes I do have spotties, I understand what you are saying but don't the spotlights connect to the high beam switch as they only work when I flick on the high beam?
with the main lights high beam works fine just the low beam has the issues.

One of your bulbs has the filament shorting out? Try replacing both bulbs.

Sorry, didn't read your post properly, you are correct. As Rob ^ said try swapping bulbs side to side and see if the problem moves with the bulb.

All I can say is this Site rocks, that was it. spent half the day checking everything else, I obviously changed the bulb first but the one I changed it with was stuffed too. Both the bad bulbs are those narva extra bright ones. From now on I'll be sticking with the originals. Thanks you blokes . Legends.
