Flashing security system light

Hi All,

This afternoon I had a dash light begin flashing, it’s the red car with the key in it, the security system light. Never had it flash before.... and the central locking key didn’t work either? So wondering if the battery in the remote needs replacing? Any ideas?

I think thats the immobiliser light - it comes on when it doesnt detect the correct key in the ignition. Can you start the car OK?

yep all seems to work ok. Central locking button didn't work though?? Had to use the key.

Might be worth changing the battery then see if that fixes it! AFAIK the remote control uses the battery, but the immobiliser is energised by a coil, so that you can start the car even if the key battery dies!
