anderson plug install

hi all.
2003 V6 petrol, aux battery in car
towing caravan with battery, fridge (12amps)
i want to put an Anderson plug on my car to charge the van battery and run the van fridge while driving. Also running fridge in car but it runs off aux battery in car.
my plan was to run a fused cable from main battery to rear of car.
this seems sensible.
Any issues here or advice? Seems like standard Prado alternator would cope fine.

Thanks sparksy. I already have two fridge points in the rear from aux battery isolated from the main. If I switched the Anderson run from main battery so it wasn’t luve alk the time it sounds like it should be ok? You sound like you have a similar setup it that right? Cheers

Similar but different. I would assume that your 2 fridge runs would be wired in 6mm2. To avoid volt drop to charge a caravan / camper battery I ran 25mm2 ( a bit large but I had it left over from a job ) to the rear anderson for the van.
The alt will charge no problem with correct cable. I'd run the new anderson from the aux second battery and use circuit breakers rather than fuse. A fuse creates a voltdrop which you dont need.
