  • Seat position sensor assembly plug

Hi Guys, need a little help locating where to buy a seat position sensor assembly plug

Air bag light was on and it ended up being a broken wire on the plug under the drivers seat.

I have soldered it as a quick fix but will like to do a proper repair.

    Thanks

Have a close look on the plug, there should be a 5 digit number, that is the last 5 digits of the actual part number. Add 90980- to the front of the number on the connector.

    Should be 90980-12257

If removing the whole plug you could always just put a 6 way Deutsch connector on it, easily obtainable.
Otherwise there is specialist stores that sell OEM plugs and bits.

He's talking about the plug for the harness that connects to the sensor I believe

Correct. I haven’t checked the plug yet but this is the photo I took previously of the broken wire on the plug that gave me the Airbag fault (25)..

Since the wire was soldered back on, the air bag fault light hasn’t come back on.

But I will replace the plug cause I can see the wire breaking off again.

It doesn't appear that you need a new plug, unless it is broken and not apparent in the photo. You need a repair pigtail (as toyota call them) which is a short length of wire (150mm long usually) with the terminal crimped on the end. You need to solder the pigtail onto the broken wire and remove the broken terminal from the plug and replace with the pigtail terminal. To find the part number of the pigtail you need, you need to locate the part number on the plug.

Thanks for that. I will do just that.

This is a photo of the plug on my 2005 KZJ120. It's part no is 90980-12195 as you can see the last 5 digits on the plug and the pigtail for it is 82998-12720. Have a close look at yours and see if the 5 digit numbers match mine.
