cruise control not engaging with the head lights on

So the cruise control engages with the lights off but doesn't engage with the lights on? Plugged a obd2 in and im not throwing any codes. I have a suspicion its todo with power but I stuck a volt meter on the battery and its running 14v, I asked my old man if its possible for the led globes would effect the cruise control and he doesn't seem to think so. I plugged the original globes bck in to be sure but no change, I'm not 100% sure on when it started but now its winter I'm travelling to work in the dark I started to notice. (this may have been answered already but I haven't come across it.

Cruise control disengages when you apply the brakes, check for a fault of some sort between the brake light and the parking lights, could be casued by trailer plug etc.
