Hey folks, I have a 2008 120 VX with the factory stereo (6 CD changer, no nav, bluetooth phone support).
The old fella that owned it before me had a Nokia cradle installed on the dash, and an external mic on the right pillar. It's been decades since I had a Nokia, of course, but the mic still worked a treat when I was making calls on my Android phone paired via bluetooth through the factory stereo.
When I was having my Redarc Tow Pro installed recently, I asked the auto elec to remove the Nokia cradle (don't think I'll be needing that!) while he was up in the dash, but leave the mic. Well, now folks can barely hear me on a call...so I'm guessing taking the cradle out has affected the mic. Maybe it was routed through the Nokia cradle or something?
Is there some sort of aux mic input on the back of the factory stereo so I can plug it in directly and continue using the mic? I doubt the sparky even kept the Nokia cradle, so I'd hate to think I stuffed up my calls by having that yanked out.
I'd rather not spend the $ on a new head unit if I can avoid it! Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
