Haven't used them personally but I have bought some bits from them and their service appears quite professional. I think the 'Roo mentioned them in one of his write-ups too.

    • Roo, or other wise man or woman,
My 2006 rig Kdj-120-0105337 has Dens injector 23670-30070 installed, which I want to replace. The available injector is Denso 23670-30340
Is it compatible ? Or recommend other with denso number along with Toyota part number thanks

      • That sinking feeling

After reading this thread, knowing I've been using farm fuel and having a set of Baileys' injectors sitting on the bench in the workshop next to a 3 micron Donaldson pre-filter ready to fit to a hilux I am really starting to regret buying an '06 hilux and an '11 prado in the last 12 months.

Toyota has really dropped the ball in the last decade. I should have brought SsangYongs.
        Cheers

        • So is there a definite month/year that this is no longer an issue for?

          • CRD injectors will always be an issue just like tyres & brakes are an issue.

It's not really just Toyota, these injectors are really working, they are a wear & tear item.
They need to be monitored at each routine service or when there's other symptoms.
They need to be changed out periodically regardless.

The seal/seat issue but from around 2007/2008 the vehicles should have the coated seats.
This does not mean the injectors last Indefinitely.

I had a customer bring their Prado in yesterday to check the Scv before I do the injectors & egr this week.
It was blowing smoke & the values were all 4.9&5.0 at 83 degrees, I hope it makes it back.
What's the point? Well peeps please get your injectors checked at each service & be aware of the problems you can have if you leave it too long.
I will put the camera in the injector port & check the pistons before I install the injectors.
            Fingers crossed.

            • 3&4 had blow by, oil pick up was getting blocked. Copper seats..... Who would risk it???? A Toyota dealer sold that vehicle not long ago

              Better now, saved another 120

The last 3 sets I changed were on vehicles sold by Toyota dealers only months before.
All those injectors had very high wear, well & truely due for change out, if you have Klm's on yours, don't risk it, get them done.

              • The dealers are far too busy replacing front drive shafts and fixing electrical gremlins in the 150s to worry about injector issues!

                • Hi all,

Toyota told me mine are within the specs at
                  #1 -0.8
                  #2 0.6
                  #3 0.4
                  #4 -0.5

Is this good, bad or indifferent?

                  I am confused.

                    • pretty sure when it gets to +3/-3 is the danger territory (happy to be corrected) so I'd say yours are pretty good, REV.

Thanks for that, I thought that this was the case. It certainly is something that is always lurking around and won't go away.

I wouldn't trust them, the amount of vehicles I see that Toyo said are ok, not cool!
It's not just feedback values, you need to check other readings are in spec, eg; total volume, maf, map injection timing etc.
Do Toyo do that? Well most of the dealers I have had dealings with don't even know or care? What the specs are...... 5 is ok? Not!!!!
It's really bad, what is going on.

There should be a sticky thread that just has the essential readings to check with values / safe operating range they need to operate in. Along with how to check them etc on Techstream. & not a thread/s you have to troll through for hours to find. Unless someone can point me to the holy grail list??...

I've only ever checked the Injector volumes, total volume and the rail pressure? (in regards to the SCV). I'd rather be safe than sorry & do the lot! As I've already replaced my injectors so for the next 100,000 km's, I'm hoping it's just maintenance.

                            Cheers,
                            Sean.

                            • This thread is always a good read.

                              My question-

Why is there such a drama with these seals in the D4D when there seems to be no problems with a non D4D, specifically the 1HDFTE.

After all they are both Direct Injection Diesels. Surely the seal set up is similar?

Probably should be, as this subject is the MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE PRADO OWNERS NEED TO UNDERSTAND, sorry for yelling

Feedback & total volume is the most important .
