How to read ECU fault codes. 1KZ-TE & D4D

    P1264 Code

    Ok - so I had the engine check light and the P1264 VN Turbo Controller Malfunction code show today. After the car was stopped for about 5 minutes it cleared by itself, so I am assuming its ok.

    I see from cfryback's post earlier in the thread that this module sits behind the glove box? Is that correct?.

    The car was in having the TowPro wiring checked today which is in the passenger footwell on the trans tunnel, so I'm guessing they knocked the connector/wiring whilst fiddling about with the towpro wiring.

      Hi all, i have a prado europe 2005 with a problem of going off.will not start till u remove the battery terminals.when u return back the terminal it starts.no error codes found with the diagnosis machine.any suggestion is highly appreciated

        Hello folks

        trying to find fault codes in my Prado 90 2001.

        have been doing a bit of reading and found the diagnosis port is different to what pictures I can find.

        trying to find pins to short as described but this is what I’ve got.

        Any ideas which pins I need to short in this??

        ok so can’t add pics

        it’s the diagnosis port next to engine passenger side

        its black with a flip up lid.

        has letters not number

        hope that makes sense

            it’s connecter 18 that I have.

            but it doesn’t have the Te2 connector which states it doesn’t have a test mode??

            does this mean I can,t pull engine faults from this connector??

              If you connect TE1 and E1 and with the ign key on does it flash the CEL in the dash?

                    On my 90. There’s one diagnostics plug on the engine which doesn’t do much for me, and another beside the driver’s foot rest which works properly.
