  • Intermittent loss of throttle response from sub 1000RPM

    Hi
2008 Prado GXL 120 series D4D 310 000km. Owned since new. Over past 2 months has stalled twice in P only - engine warm. Started back up first time. Never happened before.
The main issue is lack of response to accelerator from low revs (around idle speed) - from standstill OR when rolling with foot off accelerator. The revs do not rise as expected for a few seconds then suddenly respond as normal. There is no loss of power whilst driving along and throttle response is normal through the rest of the rev range. The engine is warm. Idle is never rough. No obvious change in fuel economy and is not blowing smoke. Problem occurs 2-3 times per week only. I have disconnected the battery to reset computer. Cleaned the MAF detector. No change.
    Thoughts? SCV?
    Thanks in advance
