Looking for a decent mechanic in Melbourne to look at my car.
Short of it, is that I've tried to keep it very well looked after on the whole.
Injectors replaced @120k with baileys pro-actively.
Full intake and EGR clean at ~130K
Its at 180 k now, and recently i've had two major-ish issues with it.
Post 170k service we had no 4 injector pipe spring a leak. As a byproduct of this I think the replacement pipe caused issues with the no 4 injector in particular as since then as it turns out there was a shit load of blow by and carbon build up, in particular from no .4
At 181k I ended up with the car losing power and stopping on a hill visiting the in laws. Found it was really low on oil, and organised a local mech who found the EGR and intake was was clogged, cleaned it all up, replaced the injector washers, cleaned the sump and clogged pickup at this time as well.
Since then it has been driving fine, with a ticking noise that follows with the engine RPM. The local mechanic indicated that he thought it was going to be the lifters and that it may resolve on its own, however as yet after ~400k to get back to Melb there has been no improvement and I'd like to get it proactively attended to.
Thoughts?
