  • Oil flush, cahnges and additives

    A few months back I did a complete oil change, engine transmissions, diffs.on my )# 120 1kz-te. at 315k>
Hopefully the Prado will last me the rest of my life ( I'm 70)
Everyone has their own opinion on oils, but I used Delo 400 for the engine,
I did some research and chose products from Cost Effective Maintenance
I did an engine flush using Engine Flush Concentrate then filled with AW10 added ( and of course new filter)
Diffs, trans drained and refilled with AW10 added.
as well a use the fuel additives CRD Fule enhancer and FTC decarbonizer
I did notice the difference very quickly:
    Engine runs quieter
    Gear changes smoother.
I think fuel consumption is down a bit but it is difficult to tell due to a variety of driving conditions: flat, hills and valleys, winding roads, low gear use, car at 3t or so ( I have a GVM
    upgrade to 3090kg), towing a 2t 'van.
I highly recommend you consider doing this.

Thanks for sharing that HappyJack! I have a 1KZ-TE also but have never used any oil additives apart from one dose of Fuel Doctor as the car was run down very low on fuel.
