    What's everyone's consensus on having the EGR deleted on the 1KD?
    Seems that it can only be beneficial but would like to get opinions. Looking at having the ECU remapped to turn it off. Who has had it done, how much and do you see any improvements?

    Google manual mapper by ozbush

    he has made a device that he sell. Tricks the ecu, also iou can adjust fuel trim for more power or less power.

    Then you can fit a full blanking plate. Note that you may feel a rough idle when the car is cold.

    Or , just fit a blank plate with a 7mm hole in it. It allows just enough air flow not to trigger check engine light

      Thanks Red but I'm not a fan of the "black boxes". I have tried the plug in variety and although had some success were never 100% throwing CEL's and all. I just don't see why we should be using modified signals and tricking the ECU into doing something that can be changed directly in the coding.

        I'd say trusting your ECU to a gumtree guru is probably more dangerous than Ozbushs mapper.

          Im running the manual mapper myself. Ive never had any problems with it. Been running it for quite a while.

          Sone people do suffer a pinch when they wind the fuel trim as far back as it can go. -15. I’m able to run at -15 99% of the time. If you do suffer from it. Just don’t turn it down that far. Set -10 or -8 your minimum level

            Thought I had better post an update on the above. I had the EGR deleted by Diesel Toys Australia and am firstly very impressed with their service and communication. Turnaround time was fast and efficient.
            First impressions from the ‘butt dyno’ are good. There is definitely an improvement with having the EGR deleted. Vehicle seems to pick up quicker and boost is more linear. Now I’m thinking I should have gone for one of their power tune packages but very happy with initial results.
            For anyone else considering this here is a rundown on what I was quoted;
            EGR delete only - $275
            Stage 1,2 or 3 tune - $385
            EGR delete and Stage tune - $550
            I definitely recommend this upgrade and props to Diesel Toys Australia for their service.

              Are they doing a dyno tune?


              if they are. Do other stuff like exhaust and intercooler upgrade first

                You only need to send them your ECU so for me didn't have to drive the car hours away to get it done. They informed me that they have developed their own tunes on a dyno and can modify any of these within reason to suit customer requirements if needed.
                I already have snorkel and exhaust done so they can always upgrade the tune to compliment these mods if I want to in the future.
                Seems like a no brainer for half the price of others.

                  I think I rather have mine on a machine for dyno testing if I’m getting a tune.

                  Not every car is the same IMO
