1KD Engine has intermittent missing between 2000 and 2500 rpm

12 months ago (275000KM) I had the injectors replaced and the inlet manifold cleaned. About 4 months later the engine starting missing under load between 2000 and 2500 rpm only. I have since had the suction control valve and EGR replaced. Although the condition has improved it still happens intermittently, but always under load ie going up a hill. It is most prevalent when at constant speed. I have observed it only occurs when the engine is at operating temperature. Now at 305000km. Any ideas?

HI Rodney, I recently had a a total engine refusal to start after a history of missing at highway speeds, the RPM you mention. Seems the culprit is the Injector Control Module slowly dying. Mine is now dead. This is according to my mechanic. I am still waiting to have this confirmed as I cannot find a replacement module. Will try a reset on monday - shorting pins 4 and 13 on the ODB with ign on and see if that resets it. No help to you maybe but of interest and possibly something to look out for.

Hi. Normally I reset removing the positive terminal from the battery and touching in the chassis, this will discharge any settings.
Does your Prado has dual tank?
