Good evening,
In the midst of a major service including replacement of injectors and clean of the inlet manifold prior to remapping during checking of of the valve clearances the Haynes manual advises that they should be as follows: -
Inlet: 0.2mm to 0.3mm
Exhaust: 0.25 to 0.35mm
I have found the following to be out of spec
Cylinder 1
1 x Exhaust 0.37mm (over 0.02mm)
1 x inlet 0.18mm (under 0.02mm)
Cylinder 2
1 x Exhaust 0.37mm (over 0.02mm)
1 x Exhaust 0.38mm (over 0.03mm)
Cylinder 3
Both exhaust 0.38mm (over 0.03mm)
Cylinder 4
1 x Inlet 0.35mm (over 0.05mm)
1 x Inlet 0.38mm (over 0.08mm)
It's a cam out job to re-shim what are the implications of continuing to run the car with out of spec and if you were in my shoes what would you do?
I ask as i have also read different guidelines regarding the exhaust valve clearances link: -
