  • Fuel line malfunction P1226

My 120 auto keeps going into limp mode, it comes up with Fuel line malfunction P1226. It seams to be when I stop in traffic or come to a stand still. I have cleaned the fuel pickup filter, replaced the fuel primer on the inner wing, replaced the red and green suction valves. Still stalling which is horrible stuck in traffic , it will restart after 5 or 6 goes .
    Can anyone please help?

Fuel pump failure? Air in system?

Put a pressure gauge on the fuel system (Ultragauge displaying fuel pressure in OBD may work too) see what the pressure is doing at stall and re-crank.

Thanks Piggy, I'll have a look at the weekend if I get chance.

If it drives ok but just stalling occasionally, I would definitely not be replacing the injector pump (yet). There is a set of 3 stainless steel mesh filters at the bottom of the spill control valve. Give them a good clean with acetone or Carby cleaner. Be careful not to damage them when removing them and extra careful not to get dust/debris into the pump when removing the SCV.

Theirs also a solenoid in that valve that can play up/get sticky over time. I've had success applying 12v straight from a car battery multiple times in quick succession to the pins on the top of the valve to loosen it up.

I hadn't noticed your post so sorry for late reply, My vehicle has 2 suction control valves red and green on the pump ( not sure if that is the same thing?)
Would that be where the filters are and would I have to take the pump off as there doesn't appear to be much room to get into the area?
