  • D4D Oil/Filter Change - Help

    G'Day Crew,

I am looking at changing my own oil/filter incl. sump plug washer every 5000km.

The thing is I have never worked on a car before EVER. But certainly willing to learn.

I had the Prado in for its 1500km free service the other day. Was quoted $62.75 for "genuine" toyota oil, filter and washer. Also quoted $120.00 for it to be done as required by Toyota( included parts and labour). I would prefer to do it myself for the experience...............

What tools etc. are required? guessing: Ring Spanner, Filter removal tool, funnel and container/drum to catch oil. Where can I dispose of the used oil legally in Brisbane northside?

Do I need a trolly jack or will ramps be ok on a slightly down slope driveway with wheel chocks?

Does anyone have the necessary pages from the workshop manual they could email me please?

Thanks, look forward to the replies.

    Regards,

    Rob
