Aftermarket air filters. Unifilter type.

I have done a search and found some bits and pieces on aftermarket filters, but they are all from a while back.

Is anybody running a unifilter type element and if so how do rate it against the toyota standard one?

I have always used the foam/oil type on rally cars and 4x4s and found them to be great but I know others disagree.

Anyone have experience running one of these type of filters?

I too have run these oil/Foam filters, however I am not sure that I want to get into a position of defence against Toyota is any warranty issue/s ever come up and I had a non spec filter installed.

Apart from opinions on their efficacy - there's a lot Toyota can hang on filter choice - a bit risky for me whilst still in warranty. (I guess one could always rip the aftermarket filter out at the first sign of trouble - but that just wouldn't be cricket.)
