Genie make great extractors - I have always had their extractors when I've fit extractors to my cars...

The Genie Blacks come with a "lifetime warranty"

with respect to the remainder of the pipe, I am very curious about seeing a set of Kerry's from TaipanXP, as he uses Vortex mufflers developed in the UK.

I had a good chat with Kerry the other night, and he told me all about his systems.
    • * All systems have a catalytic, so they meet Euro 4 emissions
      * Vortex muffler improves heat dissipation, maintaining temperatures around the 600 degrees recommended by the manufacturer
      * Lower carbon output (not sure how this is achieved)

The only gotcha, is that I can't find ANYONE in Melbourne who has one fit to a D4D....

I'll post more details later. Can't wait to get the truck back.

    Found some!

I've found some locally made extractors. See http://www.taipanxp.com.au/products.html

I'm going to give them a call tomorrow and see how much they are, I'll post the results here.

    Cheers all,

    Drew.

    Thanks for the replies.

 I don't know if I'd be willing to spend US$450 sight unseen, would be good if someone local did them.

Well done on the research! 8)

    Cheers,

    Drew.

Make sure you check the clearances. Vehicles in the USA have thier steering on the other side of the engine, so things like steering arms, power steering fluid containers, etc are located in totally different locations to our vehicles. They can often be located right where the extractors may be.

Just something to keep in mind anyway.

Drew, have a look at http://www.jbaheaders.com/05Toyotanew.asp. They are made for the US 4Runner etc, but I would imagine they would be close to perfect. Retail for about $450USD.

    Extractors for 1GR-FE V6 Engine

Has anyone found a supplier of extractors for the 1GR-FE engine?

The maifold noise discussed here http://snipurl.com/mqll on LCOOL would be fixed by a set of decent extractors.

I found one company in Queensland via Google, with no mention of their price.

Anyone been down this path yet?
