Changing a fuel filter on 120 petrol

I am helping my son-in-law do an 80,000 service on his 120 series petrol.

Can anyone direct me to a thread/site to explain the fuel filter change instructions. I did all my services on my old 90 series and remember having to go through a bit of a system to remove the pressure from what I recall.

It's easy ,just undo the clips and pull it off . No system involved . Just be careful with the clips , they're special little buggers . I think there is some sort of thread but you'll really have to dig through the archives to find it

Yep there's no pressure in the system to worry about. After the engine is shut off it releases all the pressure in about a minute or so. Just have a rag or two handy to catch any fuel that might trickle out of the hose and filter connections.

Looking at the service book it say's "Replace fuel filter, Including in-tank filter (petrol models).
I can't find a filter or any info anywhere??

Edit: Or are they talking about the sock on the fuel pump??

in the photo just to the right of the oil filler cap,behind it is a vertical cylinder ( black ) just changed mine recently
as stated there was no pressure and if you take your time the clips are easy to work out on the hoses,,,

got mine on ebay ( genuine ) thro ryde toyota , was the best price around.........hope this helps,, cheers butane

havent done the tank yet but will look into it one day

To the right of the fuel filter? Looks to be a vacuum / vapour tank coming from the tank
