Toyoya replaced the throttle body today.......now the idle problem is WORSE.
Asked about other probable issues as per Leigh, they said they have checked these.
Next step is to change the accellerator device (note fly by wire, no cable).
They also managed to run a tool trolley into the side of the car, causing a decent scratch....service manager has assured that this will be fixed. Should not have happened in the first place.
    No idea, no care.

Toyota has now replaced the acc rod assembly...still not fixed.
Now Toyota say there is no problem!
Does anyone else have a 2009 V6 6spd manual that has this problem? How does your engine drop revs? PLEASE ADVISE

Slow cranking speed? Replace starter. Had exactly the same issue.

I'm not very experienced with petrol engines these day's but according to the Gregory's Workshop Manual (for 95 and 120 series), Troubleshooting Guide Section 7 "Engine rotates but will not start", the options are:
            1. Ignition System Fault
            2. Fuel System Fault
            3. Broken Timing Belt (remove the top timing belt cover and examine the timing belt)
It doesnt sound like a fuel supply issue as you would have trouble starting in the morning. Broken timing belt I think you'd know by now haha. So everythings pointing at your ignition system I reckon. I'd hazzard a guess your high tension leads are on their way out? Assuming your engine has high tension leads. If so, that would be a cheap place to start. You can test their resistances with a multimeter but I don't have to correct values to give you. Probs just as easy to replace em' and see.

Seems to crank fine same as first use but cranks maybe six times then fires and runs well!

The engine starts straight away first start and any time straight after shut down but if left for some time, maybe an hour won't restart until approx six rotations or more, replaced injectors thinking maybe fuel but has the mechanics and myself stuffed any ideas

How are you reading for codes? Generic Code reader or from Toyota? It's possible the reader your mechanic is using can't read the codes. Prado's were only readable from 2007 onwards so your model might have just fallen short (possibly).

Just had a quick google at common causes for engine not starting when warm. Have a look through these and see if theyre any use. I've had issues in the past with the engine earth lead coming loose so that could be worth a look. Their is two big cables coming off your battery. One to the body/chassis and one to your engine block. Make sure they're all secured. Check your alternator and starter motor conections and make sure theyre all good. And maybe try swapping out your battery with a known good one as it could be what Piggy mentioned.

Will give it a look but three different mechanics with flash readers and no codes should be OK will look at your suggestions however!
