Hi guys ,First time here .
I have a 2004 prado v6 4.0 AT with a blown head gasket so I decided to replace it at home during COVID 19 lockdown. So after 2-3 hrs a day and 2 days I have removed the heads with the help of YouTube video link attached below .took the heads to machine shop resurfaced, pressure tested , washed and new stem seal installed (heads checked straight no cracks No issues). Now I have cleaned the engine block surface with sand paper and scotch bright as u can see in the pictures .
Bought new head gasket and timing chain set now my question is do I have to Apply rtv sealant to head gasket If yes than where and how and also while I am here at this point should I have to address any thing else as well .
i have tried searching for this info but couldn’t find any thing regarding instructions for head gasket sealant application. I don’t want to hurry reassembling everything back .
thanks in advance for guidance.
