If its 'chip', there are three possibilities that can work for you -
a) Throttle pedal modifiers - these dont increase power, but will enhance perceived response
b) CKP signal modifiers to advance timing - these work, and probably the best solution for J120
c) Ignition coil signal modifiers to advance timing - these typically dont work with the J120, as they have a feedback loop to the original ECU.

Anyone chipped an 120 petrol engine

Ive remapped mine, adjusted timing, air-flow characteristics, target lambda, etc. Havent had the time to put it on the dyno, low end gains are evident, and with higher fuel efficiency too, full throttle gains probably ~5% or so. The part throttle gains are definitely worth it.

I drive like an old fart but want a bit more pulling power fro the new caravan coming.
Maybe a set of headers and a better pipe + tune

Guest repliedAny power increase will put more strain. You are better to tune them, not chip.

Anyone chipped an 120 petrol engine
Hey
Looking for some first hand info on outcome from chipping a 120 4L engine.
some of the claims on the websites in power gain seem excessive.
Any extra strain on drive line
cheers
