  • Sump Plug/Pan Query

G'day, just bought the wife a v6 120, went to service and the oil sump plug looks recessed slightly into the pan evenly all the way around the washer? Is this normal or is it a sign the plug may have been over tightened or taken a hit?

This isn't normal but probably not an issue if the deformation is only slight and doesn't leak oil

As per the above comment, this isn’t normal, but if the bolt screws out & screws back in fine with no leaks, then it’s of no concern. Maybe it’s an aftermarket bolt too with a shallower hex head on it making it look recessed? Would you be able to post a photo.
