  • Reversed leads when jump starting

    Hi all,

so I did a stupid thing of reverse jumping my Prado. Now the car won’t start. It has power and is cranking, but just doesn’t seem to want to go.
Has anybody had a similar issue? I’ve googled the possible causes due to my moment of stupidity. Have I killed the ECU.
My scanner shows a fault code of P0221 (Throttle control aviator) any input would be greatly appreciated.

Disconnect battery for 30 mins, see if it sorts it. If not, check for blown fuses and main breakers.

      Thanks Piggy,

As an update, So replaced the battery (old one was needing replacing anyway) will check fuses and breakers. Dumb question? Are the breakers in the main fuse box under the bonnet?
Noticed that I mis typed the fault code. It actually P2118. Not sure if this is the culprit for not starting. But will check fuses and report back.

Likely blown the ETCS fuse (10A from memory) in the under bonnet fuse box.
