For those guys towing caravans, what type of towing mirror are you using? There seem to be alot out there..

Have a look at "Aussie Truck Mirrors" http://www.mycaravanparts.com.au/pro...k-mirrors.aspx
Good and solid. I hate the ones that clip on the mirror as they never seem to hold right.

      Hi Bilko,

I have been using genuine Aussie truck mirrors for many years with great success.

I have the 150 model at present and the standard bottom clip that comes with the Aussie Truck Mirror fits the bottom of the door OK.

I believe that on Prado series 90 and 120 the large bottom clip is necessary.

The large bottom clip part number is BRB2070P and is available from Aussie Truck Mirrors P.O Box 67 Dry Creek SA 5094 Phone: 08 8262 6440. I had them on a previous vehicle and they were $12.50 plus postage.

With the ATM's fitted I can easily see the rear corner of the van.

The mirrors do not vibrate or 'blow back'.

Little tip when using ATM's......spray the webbing straps with a hose, before each trip.....once they become slack.....re-tighten and they are good for the trip.

The ones that clip onto the mirrors are not worth the money IMHO.

      Cheers,
      K&K

I have been using Ausie Truck Mirrors. Those clip on things are a pain in derrière.

I had the Aussie Truck Mirrors for a few trips, but found they were cutting the window rubbers. I changed to an Ora set and find these very good, and no damage.

I also like the Clearview permanent extendable mirrors discussed elsewhere on ther formum. I would probably go with these if I was doing more than my current 3 or 4 trips a year.

I tried the Ora mirrors. I found that the suction cup on the arm didn’t last long. The suction cup is not sold separately and you have to buy the complete arm at $80.00 a throw. I now use the Ausie Truck mirrors. I had them on my Patrol and now on the 150 Prado. They don’t fit the 120 Prado as well because of the plastic molding on the door. The clear view is a great idea and well worth the $600.00 price tag. The have them for the 120 Prado. The 150 series are still on the drawing board. The 150 have the electric folding mirror with the indicator lights. I wrote to clear view to see how long before they are available for the 150. I have received no reply to date.

Yesterday I tried the Aussie truck mirrors on my 150 and the bottom hook touches the door frame. So I tried the Enzo magnetic and when the window is wound up, the hook is pushed out. Has anyone experienced these problems?

                Hi Steve
I have Enzo magnetics, and yes the plastic "hook" does pop up when the window is nearly closed. I put a slight bend in it (away from the window) each time I fit my mirrors. Pain in the bum, but better than having a strut to the bottom of the door an risking damage to the plastic skirt.

                    G'day Pedro,
How difficult are the clearview mirros to fit. I really like the idea but would like to change back to original when I return home. Also what is the cost of the mirrors?

I had them fitted by Mike Cowan the boss of Clearview and it took him about half an hour.
There is a c/d with instructions that comes with it.
For my 120 the cost was $660.

Anyone using the Aussie Truck Mirrors and have found they need to replace the small plastic pieces that is between the metal part of the mirror bracket and glass window (the slippery little bits that stop the metal from scratching the window), can get replace bits from Aussie Truck Mirrors 14 Rumble Road, Dry Creek, SA 5094
Northern Adelaide (08) 82626440. I have just got off the phone to them and they are going to post some to me at no cost. Great service.

I replaced the Aussie mirrors with the Clearview. The Clearview are a good mirror but remember to fold them in when visiting shopping centres.

I found with the Aussie Mirrors that when fitting between glass and door that the bracket could be fitted between the felt and rubber to stop the contact with the glass. Have a good look with a torch and flat bladed screwdriver.

I saw a Prado with Clearview mirrors the other day. To me they looked stupid and stuck out way too far. For the amount of time I need them, I'll stick to my clip-ons.
