  • 2006 135ks D4D Auto Vibration

    Hi All,

Have a 2006 120 series Prado, It has been going well up until now, Brought the Prado from CMI in SA, its only got 135K on the clock,
OK this is were it gets interesting,

1, In Drive, foot on brake rev up to 1200rpm and we get a nice vibration on the drivers side,

2, When driving over the 1200rpm the vibration goes away,

3, When driving at 50-60ks and the rpm is in the 1200rpm range woohoo the vibration is there..

any ideas, I have hockey strapped the grill, vibration still there, removed the number plate as it was loose on the bulbar vibration still there checked under the hood for loose bolts or heat shields still no joy vibration still there.

I would be leaning towards Engine/Gearbox Mounts.

I know the Gearbox mounts are known for sagging. Maybe get them checked.

Engine mounts would be the likely culprit, reasonably common issue. Bugger of a job to replace them.

        Cheers Andrew

I think I,ll try another dealer, for a second opinion. My Prado is a late 09 with 73000Ks on the clock, no towing and very little off road.
