My drive is a 1KZTE 2004 prado Diesel. Just turned over 330,000ks. This winter I am blowing a small amount of white smoke at cold startup that is also associated with a pronounced rattle that may be from the rocker cover area, both are evident until the vehicle warms up. I have found no posts about the benefits of getting valve clearances checked for the 1kzTE. I have never had this done on the vehicle and wonder what others have experienced. Is it something that should be done? If so how regularly? Is it worth doing? - and could it be associated with the noise and smoke that I am experiencing? My feelings are to leave the original injectors as they are.
