GXL Option Packs? Clarifications:

Hi there,
- yes first post.
- have used the search functions and there appears to be 'limited' knowledge in this area.

how to tell if a Prado has Options Pack. i've read so far.

GXL's will have H, HL, N, LL.
Options GXL = H, N, L.

Options mean you get Trac control and Stab Control.. - yes those abreviations are hilarious to me.
what i want to ask is.. whilst searching on car sales i've found THIS...

GXL's - some have what look like. Reverse Parking sensors? some don't now unfortunatley the ones that DO have the parking sensor looking things dont show photos of their transfer case lever so i can't tell if it has H N L - Trac & Stab control.
can someone advise if the GXL's that have what look like Parking Sensors have Options Packs or not?

Parking sensors are not related to Option Pack. As you have found out, the easiest way to tell is the HNL on the transfer case lever. If in doubt, ask the seller for a photo of the transfer case lever.

Also option pack 1 on the GXL had side airbags.

what car has alloy front bar?
what car has climate control?
then there is the non flare & the flare cars (non flare 2009?)

what are the diff ratio options? i have seen 3.7 & 3.9 was there a 4.1?
then all the tricky options
traction control
stability control
hill decent

what else was offered?

does anyone have a full list of options??

I used to have the brochures in pdf form. Somewhere in archives. I will have a look. Waiting on the weather to clear so I can pbotograph the blood moon...

I was wrong, was thinking about GX which only picked up rear air with OP2. For the 120 update:



Diff ratios: 3.909:1 all diesels, 3.727:1 all petrols.

Manual petrol 1900 - 2100kg
Auto diesel 1980 - 2180kg; 2010 - 2190kg VX and Grande
Auto petrol 1910 - 2110kg; 1940 - 2120kg VX and Grande
GVM 2900kg diesel, 2850 petrol.

Doesn't specify why a range is given. Std is a 5 seater so should be lighter but doesn't explain VX and grande.

mine is an 08 GXL D4D 6p 8 seater, gave them the build number and they said 1975kg but i seen a brochure that said 2350kg for GXL & 2450kg for the Grande (Grande has GVM of 2990kg)

the book says front axle max weight is 1290kg & rear axle is 1800kg but they can tell me what they were when built

They left out the leather trimmed steering wheel and radio controls on the wheel or was that standard?

Should have written,

Mine was a 2008 with both option packs, it included all the above plus leather trimmed steering wheel with radio controls and 5 speed auto and hill assit but only had single cd player from memory but I could be wrong.

GX or GXL? I had a GX with OP2 but the GXL only had one option pack available as per tgat snip from the brochure.
