  • repair costs

    Hi guys

Just a quick question about repairing a panel on my 120's .

On the driver side passenger door we clipped a pole in the shopping
centre . The bottom plastic panel is not damaged , just scratched .

Any idea's on cost to remove , repair , paint and refit ????

    I hate shopping centres

    cheers

    Mick

Sorry I can't help on price, however I had a chip in the plastic panel on one of the doors when my Prado was delivered new. The fix (after a heap of stuffing around by the dealer talking about repairing it and painting it etc) was to order the panel from Toyota already pre-painted and they just swapped them over.

So I don't think there is any real need to have it repaired and repainted.

      Mick,

If it's not too bad, try someone like "Touch up guys" or similar who do small panel fixes. They should be able to fill it and weld it and paint it up.

            What about a dent...

Long story short. I managed to gently ease the corner of the rear bumper into a retainer wall post. ops: Prolly 2 inch diameter and an inch deep. Tried to push out but but no good.

Any ideas if its possible to push out some other way or am I up for a totally new rear bumper? Am I right a new rear bumper will be in the $800 range?

Man I am CRANKY with myself! Grrr!

              Hi Wengnuts,

Thanks mate, I think my pride was damaged more than the car!

You guys have a great time and let me know when the next one is.
