  • Front drive shafts and 50mm lift kits

Gents of the Grey Matter, i have a quick question for all you who have lifted.. do i have to replace the front drive shafts when i lift from std to a 50mm lift. it is a Grande, and yeah i have read about losing certain features, this doesnt bother me, i am doing the whole suspension and all bushes replacement thing before a good trip. any advice will be taken fully on board,, thanks in advance.

If you mean lower control arm bushes, beware the bolts and cams are often seized meaning cutting them out. Thats a big job!! If they are seized you will want to do it anyway to enable a decent wheel alignment after lifting. Depending on what your up for, Fulcrum have aftermarket arms with their bushes already pressed in..... they come in at reasonable value comparing Toyota prices. Their bolts for the 120s are good as they have a slot in them to hold antiseize, so they dont seize up. I bought my bushes / bolts from Amayama, at about 1/3 the price of local.
