  • Wheel nuts size

    Hi all,
I own a Prado 120VX and I just got a second hand set of mud tires to swap with my ATs occasionally, however they're mounted on steel rims as opposed to my alloy set so the wheel nuts are too long to fit.
My question is: What size thread are the wheel nuts? Are they tapered? Is there something else I should know before buying? Can I buy them from Repco, Supercheap Auto or even Ebay to save a few bucks or should I stick to the original Toyotas?
    Cheers,
    Axe

Can't remember the size but go to your local tyre place. They often have a bucket of nuts. I got a set for nothing to reduce the stockpile they had.

As said they are metric M12x1.5 but easy to confuse by eye with 1/2 inch which won't fit. For steel wheels you need the cone nuts not the straight flat lug nuts that are for alloys. Not sure what you mean by too long but alloy nuts can't be used on steel rims.
