Been trying to work out some carrying capacity numbers.

Here are my estimated numbers and I hope someone can confirm

Kerb Weight 2,435kg (Tare with a tank of petrol but no accessories, i.e. tow bar, bull bar etc)
reserve tank 90kg (full, assuming 1kg per litre, and assuming kerb weight doesn't include reserve)
Tow bar 25kg (?????? pure guess)
Bullbar 30kg
Winch cradle 26kg
Less: original bumper (15kg)
Winch 32kg
2 Adults say 80KG 160kg
------------
2,783kg
Tow ball weight 250kg (if towing)
------------
3,033kg
=======

Gross Vehicle Mass 2,990kg

I'm over and haven't packed the car yet.

I must be doing something wrong, can anyone confirm my estimates, if I'm correct there must be alot of cars over the limit?

Max kerb weight (as it is model dependent) is 2190kg. That should be with all fluids including fuel.

Makes it look better.
I assumed it wouldn't include the reserve tank in my calc's, do you think the Kerb weight includes both tanks?
if yes that will claw back another 90KG.

i went and weighed a stock standard 2007 GXL with nothing changed, had 15L fuel left ( as the light was on)
it weighed 2100kg = 150kg for the remaining fuel to be added = 2250kg
add me & the misses to this car
it weighed 1250kg on the front wheels (without the remaining fuel (70L) devided by 2 = 30kg on the front axle 30kg on the rear axle only left 10kg left and it had the plastic front bar on it

when i called Toyota & gave them my vin number & build number they tried to tell me it weighed 1975kg when they made it , but the brouchure says it's 2350kg (GXL with rear air & front alloybar)

weight it at the garden centre, scrap yard or rubbish tip , front wheels, whole car, rear wheels when full of fuel
then you will know exactly

i know i need to go on a diet, but my car needs a bigger diet !!!

Thanks for the heads up. Axles were going to be my next check, as I was a bit concerned about the front considering the extra weight of the bar winch and cradle is on the front.

There is a free weigh bridge on the side of the Hume just north of the Broadford northbound on-ramp.

If Vicroads aren't using it to weigh trucks it is available for the public but the turn-around to head back to Melbourne is about 10km north.

Weight per axle is displayed on an electronic sign and you don't even need to get out of the car.

Petrol is a weight of .7kg per litre normally too.

Funny you saying about weigh bridges, I was looking one up last night on the internet, but the closest one is for a fee. Thanks for the heads up about the Vic Roads one.

I weighed my 2006 GXL about 2 months ago with the following:
Genuine alloy bar
Tow Bar
Winch braket
Carbon winch 12,000lb
Rhino platform
2x IPF 900S spoties
CFX65 FRidge
Arkpak 730
120ah AGM battery
foxwing
40" bushranger lightbar
RV5 tent, floor saver, extra side
self inflating mattress, pillows, blowup single mattress,
40ltr boab floor water tank
20ltr water jerry
clothes for 3
160kg adults
22kg child
food etc
approx 130-140l fuel
GCM is 2850 according to the plates and we come in @ 2800kg.

Weighed our new Cruiser. Had just installed a Uneek bullbar and 100L fuel and no rear tray or spare wheel. 2.38T Standard GVM is 3.3T
