  • 3D Printed Titanium Key

    Hi All,

Frustrated with having my OEM keys both break, and also 2 eBay keys also break after 6 months, I went in search for a better solution.

I found a guy in the states that is producing 3D Printed Titanium reinforced keys. He only produces the shell, you need to keep your OEM key blade and of course the electronics.

I found more info on this forum https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/yot...-sale.1003495/

And you can get them on his website http://yotamd.com/products/key_fob/

I've already purchased one but haven't received it yet. Cost was $84 US + $35 US postage. I was prepared to pay this as I'm sick of these things breaking.

Here's a pic of the 3 button model, he doesn't have any pics up for the our 2 button model, but are available on his site for purchase.

Not a lot, comes down to bad design and shit plastic. The OEM ones lasted 10 years, and I replaced them with $10 eBay ones, which were made poorly and broke around the screw hole after about 6 months. I wasn't forking out $450 for a new OEM one.

i Ekul_135 I have had the same problem. I can't recall how many keys I have been through. I bought some from locksmiths for around $70 that lasted 2 years (gave up after the second failure). bought maybe 3 replicas of the standard key shape from ebay. Finally have bought probably 4 of the flip style keys of ebay. Am hoping you think your on a winner with this as one of mine has almost given up the ghost and am looking for a replacement.

I think i would be thinking that the barrel of the ignition would be over tight /stiff ,.. i think i would spay a bit of lockspray down there ,maybe it would be lighter and not brake keys so much ., you guys have probably tried this already , but just in case .. just a thought!

Thanks for the heads up, ordered one yesterday. I have both genuine keys break and the one's from Mao's 2 dollar shop don't quite cut it - all the ones I have tried and use presently aren't exactly the same blank profile and are hit and miss to whether they work.

Ok so decided to bite the bullet and get one of these, arrived today. Only issue I had with assembly was those tiny nuts but when I threaded them onto one of longer bolts/screws gave me more control and assembly was quick and easy. Seems to be a nice bit of kit and should outlast the Prado.

Not cheap but kids were looking for Christmas present
so in the end cheap for me would recommend.

It looks like I just sold out and I need to send more inventory. Let me get more on the way. I can add a listing for "Sniper Grey", "Flat Dark Earth", or "Orange". In the US, those are all pretty popular colors.

Which color of those would you guys/gals down under prefer?
