  • Fuel Gauge Issues after gas conversion

    Hi guys,

The issue I have is that most of the time my gauge reads empty. When the main tank is filled it shows half a tank and drops pretty fast from there.

I've been doing some digging around on here to try and solve my problem but to no avail.

A few threads suggested keeping the power off for a few hours and then turning the car back on. This didn't really change a thing.

It was also suggested that a bad earth could be the problem. I scored and reconnected every earth I could find and then repeated the battery trick. Sadly nothing.

A few other posters suggested that the resistor that is meant to be placed on the line could either be faulty or incorrect. So I pulled out the rear passenger seat and took a look.

This is what I found. One empty socket and a plug full of sealant/caulk. I did not however find a line that had obviously been altered to include a resistor as I expected.

Can anyone point me in a good direction here?

edit: just to make it clear the car was converted to lpg before we owned it, so I'm only just walking into this mess.
