  • V6 auto towing power

    Hi,
Looking at buying a new 2000 kg hybrid off road camper and am curious on peoples experiences with the power to pull it up hills and fire trails etc.
Currently towing a 1750 kg off road camper trailer and find it heavy on the hills already and have the boot on the floor quite often with the rev range up high.
Anyone out there towing a similar Eaztrail, MDC, Fantasy 15ft rig.
Already got a 3.5 T towbar and airbags, Toughdog HD rear springs and new shocks.
Just the power feels a little lacking.
    Cheers

You've answered your own question already.

It will be worse. Either get a 150 V6, a 200 series LC or do some mods to your 120.

Exhaust, intake and a tune will really help, as will a lockup controller if it's an auto.

I have a 150 with the intake and a Raptor tune done and they certainly help, but it's still worse at towing than my old SZ petrol territory, the Ford 6 has better low down torque, better 6spd box and weighs heaps less (but won't do it off road).

You've only got a few options to play with and a diesel will be no better (petrol fan here).
