V6 muffler delete 120 series

I've done a search i can't find anything that matches my question.

Has anyone with a v6 120 series petrol cut the muffler and added a straight pipe?
If so what materials did you use ?
What size diameter and length pipe?
How did you join the pipe to the original exhaust?
Another stupid question is the diesel muffler the same length and shape as the petrol version because I can only find tailor made muffler delete pipes to suit 120 series diesel models

I found these, a 2.5 inch pipe and sleeve clamp.
Could I cut the muffler out and cut the tubing to size and use the sleeves to put together?
