  • Bushskinz Bashplate - Houston we have a problem

Finally got to putting on my bashplate under the Prado 120. Its been sitting around for some time.

Ready to insert the four bolts at the front. Seems there are two brackets already using two of the bolt holes. Even using two bolts the brackets will still be in the way. Ahhh!.
    I have a 2004 VX petrol.

Is the Piping for the VX different?

It's a V6 thing. I designed my bashplates to cater for this.

Pack the plate out with some washers to fit over the bracket.

Thanks guys. Yes, thought about filing down the lip of the bracket to reduce the space and use some washers. Thought I would first contact the chap from Bushskinz who responded straight away and he is going to send some spacers (a big thank you). Which is really great, as a bit hard to go shopping and browse through the washer section in Melbourne at the moment due to lockdown LoL.

Ok, Here is an update on the bashplate. Got some spacers for the front bolts and the bash plate has been installed (loosely, will tighten it up tomorrow).
I have another Noob question. I can see that the bottom of the front gearbox will be just touching the bashplate. I assume the gearbox moves slightly up and down a little because the two support arms are on rubber mounts. Should I be concerned?

Even with the spacers, the bashplate is touching the front diff? Sounds like a design issue to me, or you were provided with the 150 version instead of the 120 one.

Hi amts, Oops, I typed in front gearbox instead of Diff, thanks for clarifying. The front spacers don't effect this section of the Plate.
