Well done Craig. Wow, 835mm! Hope it settles down a bit. Was this with the circlip in the middle position?

Has the ride height settled at all? 805 is a great result, at the limit but not over it with billies.Originally posted by Way2go View PostThe ride is certainly not harsh - definitely firmer than before though, but more than bearable.
The front definitely sits flatter around the corners.
I'm impressed and very happy so far (despite the extra cost of the ABS wiring.........)

Well we've done the front end tonight. There was a bit of mucking around with the spring compressors as they kept wanting to jump of the springs (coil diameter to large as they are suited to holden & ford sedans). Let the car down and without being driven, (haven't torqued everything up yet) it's sitting at 835mm!!! It will settle but it looks like it's got bloody mini wheels on it!. Doing the back in the morning and will be having a look at retaining the air bags. (bit nervous about taking the bags out actually).
Here are some pics of comparo in spring heights on and off the struts.

And first thing after dropping the Prado off the Jacks... 835mm (it will settle)

W2g, I see you've updated your signature already.... Well done. Hows the ride? Just about to start on mine. beers are in the fridge and mates on his way over with the big arse spring compressors & torque wrench.

Problem isolated to one of the wires, however Toyota have no stock in Australia.
Thankfully, the mechanic was able to fabricate a replacement in-house.......
Pick up later today.
Front end apparently sitting around 805mm!

Doing mine tomorrow night so I will keep an eye out for that one... W2G, I'm really interested how the ride is going to be for you as I have a very similar front end (except for Dual batt & compressor), Probably about 40kg all up lighter.Last edited by craigm; 25-08-2011, 07:43 PM.

Bugger, that is a common problem though, by the sounds of it, he has overstretched one of the ABS sensor wires and it has broken internally.
Seen it a few times before.
If thats the case he will have to replace that section of the ABS cable/harness, could be a couple hundred bucks maybe.
He will have to figure out which one first though!
FYI
If that is the case, he will have to replace the cable and then it will not reset until you do about 40klm/h.
Hopefully this is not the case but it seems a very common mistake that people make.
They just dont pull more cable through before allowing the suspension to drop.Last edited by 1coolbanana; 25-08-2011, 06:59 PM.

Pick up is now tomorrow morning - apparently there is an ABS warning light that has come on since the spring work and he doesn't want to give it back until he's sure there isn't a problem.......

Good on you mate.
Thats pretty much where mine is but with spacers, its too hard for me to be pissing around with those elongated slots.
They do take a little mucking around and settling in dont they!
Interested to see how the front goes.
You going to give us a pic I hope?
Cheers

OK, got the 101HDs being fitted as I type.
After a bit of playing around (i.e. many trips back and forth under the car, lots of cycling through L-N-H-N-L-N, etc.) last night and a bit of a drive to settle things down this morning, I have the rear sitting at 820 and 830 with an almost fully empty fuel tank and pretty much nothing in the back. Once I fuel up a bit and do some packing, I'll remeasure, but my rear droop is just over 890mm, so I'm not too concerned at present.
The rear height has been achieved without remounting the bracket on the chassis with washers or such - basically I played around with the mounting plate where it was and changed the settings of the arms with the vertical adjustment slot, and voila!
Looking forward to seeing what the front is measuring once I pick it up......

I did a Simpson crossing in 2002 with Dave who owns a 100 series... but he had a Hilux when we did the crossing and I had an 80 series, so it's probably a different Dave.
W2G, I think that the KTFR-101HD is the best option for the weight you have on the front of your car, have a good trip... both of you.
