  • OME, TJM or Dobinson

    All,

I need your advise on this one; in the Netherlands there isn't as much experience with suspension upgrades for the Prado as in Oz.

I am looking for a 5 cm. lift and some extra load capacity for camping, not for daily use.
95% of the time on-road use, the rest off-road with camping gear in the back and a roof top tent, portable dual battery in the back.
No winch or bull-bar (yet), trying to get a Sovereign bar to the NL, anyone?

At this moment we seem to have 3 options over here: OME, TJM and Dobinson.

    TJM - 5 cm. lift - Quoted Aus $ 2500 fitted.
Some good reviews on PP, one local dealer advised TJM (being an OEM supplier for Toyota?), the other had some bad experience with the TJM quality and advised for Dobinson (own factory).

    Dobinson - 3,5 cm. lift front / 4,5 cm. lift back - Quoted Aus $ 1750 fitted.
Couldn't find any reviews on PP, one local dealer preffered Dobinson over the TJM's.

OME - 5cm. lift - Waiting for a quote. What's the price difference compared to the TJM's and Dobinsons in Oz?
Mainly good reviews on PP and some local owners as well.

Good you please give me an advise based on:
    1. riding comfort on-road
    2. off-road use, durability
    3. lift
    4. price

Thanks in advance for your help,

    Daan
