Hello all,
After noticing a drop of oil on the ground in the garage, I've ducked my head under the car to see that the drivers side rear shock has developed a weep. I have spent hours on here looking through suspension setup options but haven't really found anything that fits my exact scenario and was hopeful of some advice.
As outlined in my signature, the car is a 120 Grande with minimal mods (front ARB bar and AMTS bash plate) and stock suspension - airbags were replaced with standard height airbag man units around 3 years ago because of a leak.
Since I bought my own toy this car really gets used by the wife / couple of beach trips a year so no need for a lift, what I would like to know is recommendations for front springs / shocks and rear shocks only for this setup with the airbags.
Whitey and a number of other members have indicated that the Bilstein 712/713 combo isn't appropriate for a lifted car - do they work well on standard height?
What front springs for the minor additional weight on the nose?
Will the 713's work with the rear bags valving wise or is there a better option for a non coil Grande?
I'm happy to spend what I need to but don't want to end up with something that pogos down the road with the vague front end that comes along with it. The car has close to 350,000K's on it and has run the TEMS suspension from new with only a tiny amount of noticeable sag on the front due to the age and additional weight. I would whack another stock set up in it with upgraded springs but the prices for the TEMS shocks on PartsSouq etc are enough to make the eyes water!
Any help / advice that can be provided is appreciated.
