Hey folks,
I've got a slight problem with the rear airbag suspension of my 2005 Prado.
It won't lower the rear suspension when I press "lo" on the switch, or exit/unload the rig.
Manual lowering via switch, the dash-lights start blinking "lo" as they should, but there's no air being exhausted.
All other functions, that need no lowering the tail, work absolutely fine.
Additional info: The compressor has been changed about 12M ago.
I made a listening test an held my finger on the three valves on the tank.
When the lowering routine is activeted, e.g. through another person exiting the driver's seat, the level and gate solenoid valves are clicking as they should, but I'm not sure about the tank valve. I cannot clearly hear/feel, as it is mounted on the same plate as the other valves and should be switched at the same time.
According to the 2003 4Runner Manuals, which uses the same suspension system, the tank valve is the only one of all 4 valves, that is activated ONLY through the lowering process, as the air tank is only for temporarly storing air when deflating the rear axle supsension.
A malfunction in the tank solenoid valve would print the error code C1744/44 - but I did not get any workshop to read out the codes so far.
And the manual also sais, that the lowering routine will be blocked by the ECU, when theres a malfunction in the tank valve. I checked the connector to it...there's 12V /13,8V current on it, but no amperage when e.g. the "lo" switch is pressed. That would fit to the info, that the ECU will block the process.
That's why I think, it's not the exhaust valve sitting on the compressor, but the tank valve. It's the following one:
Questions to you:
- Has someone ever had the same problem?
- Is there a way to get the valve running?
- Since the tank valve is only available from toyota and as part of the whole tank/valve system, does anyone know, if these are normal industrial valves that can be bought seperately?
- Is the Tank valve the excact same one as the exhaust valve on the compressor?
