I have broken the rear shockers on a 2003 grande. Is this a common issue.

If those airbags and shocks were the originals from 2003, then they would both be well and truly worn out. With the airbags, that means that it might slowly be losing air and the rear would be struggling to keep to the original height. With the shocks, that means that the damping effect is reduced so it is not slowing the up travel movement. A combination of both of these conditions would contribute to the shocks bottoming out often causing the failure.

Thanks. I will check the air bags. But the height still seems to be normal. It has not been in any sort of accident but it was travelling over very rough country out from Innaminka. I suspect the bump stops look well used because I had to do more than 1000 kms on rough tracks and road with no shockers. They are the original air bags and were the original shocks. I have now put Iron Man pro on it.
