Good morning all,
Long time lurker considering buying a 2005 120 GRJ120 with ~190k km on the clock to become a second vehicle that only gets used on rare weekends or trips where I need a 4x4. Have an EV for day to day and the majority of trips and work in the bush and spend a lot of time 4x4 for that, so no plans of extreme 4x4 and the like, just the odd trip away with the family where I need a 4x4.
Think the 120 would be a good candidate for that and the low purchaser price is appealing for something that won't get used a whole heap and I certainly don't need the latest and greatest or something new with all the bells and whistles. Thinking of keeping the Grande suspension as I hear good things about it and think it will tick all the boxes that I want/need and be comfortable to boot. Full service history on the vehicle I'm looking at but don't think anything has been done to date on the suspension (yet to test drive it), so I'm thinking the suspension needs a bit of an overhaul to provide many more years of trouble free service.
Some what of a suspension nufty so I've done some research and reading and think I know what's needed replacement but want to confirm if there's anything else I'm missing. From research I need the following:
Front TEMS strut : 2 x 48510-60121 allfourx4.com.au seems the cheapest at $440.00 each
Rear TEMS Shock: 2 x 48530-69485 allfourx4.com.au seems the cheapest at $120.00 each
Right rear airbag: 48080-35011 allfourx4.com.au seems the cheapest at $350.00 each
Left rear airbag: 48090-35011 allfourx4.com.au seems the cheapest at $350.00 each
Any other things I'm missing replacing at the same time? Coils OEM or look at aftermarket?
Then get a mechanic or 4x4 shop to do the replacement and install?
Got a quote for full replacement by ironman with the foam cell pros and that was $3500, so thinking I'm happy to stay stock OEM as it'll hopefully be under $2500 or there abouts..
Cheers and thanks in advance for any advice or comments,
