Hi All,
Just fitted a new set of Yokohama Geolandar GO11's @ $199 per Tyre after getting 56K out of the original Grandtreks. I was going to get a set of Bridgestone D694's but they didn't have them on site and i needed to get new rubber before i go away this weekend. Also at $80 less per Tyre i thought that i would take a bit of a risk. Anyway I have had a quick run through and there doesn't really seem to be much listed here about these so i thought that i would give you my initial impressions and if i remember a bit of an ongoing about them.
So far the road noise is good but i haven't done much more than round town. I have left them at standard fitted pressure but will see after a bit of use if i should up them to closer to 36-38 psi
Tread pattern looks ok and should clear a decent amount of crap as well as have ok grip in the rough.
On bitumen they certainly feel better than the grandtreks ever have.
For those that don't like to advertise their Tyre choice in big white letters these are all in black rubber only (i was under strict instructions to make sure that there was no white anywhere on the tyres that could be seen in public).
Anybody with any experience with these please chip in
cheers
