  • Airbag Compliant?

    Hey Everyone,

Just a thought here, but after installing my winch on my 150 Kaka in a ARB Custom deluxe bullbar it struck me that all the painstaking effort ARB and other Brands have gone through to make the bars airbag friendly etc and we all go stuff it all up by installing 25kg to 30kgs of steel inside the bar.

The winch sure isn't going to compress in a huge frontal impact.

Not asking for a response at all, just my observation.

    Cheers
    Steve

If a winch bar is compliant then it has to be compliant with or without a winch. Cos that be how they are sold.

The airbag compatibility is all in the mount, not the bar itself. I can't see the winch making any difference as the entire bar will compress backwards on the mounts, this in turn will set off the sensors if required. We did the ARB tour last month, they don't take their r&d lightly. Have a good look at where your bar mounts to the chassis and you'll get a better understanding.
