Hi robbo14
I was just searching the Rhino-Rack website and noticed the 120 Series backbone RTPB2
http://www.rhinorack.com.au/products...-rack-backbone
if the above link doesn't work go onto the site and look under the following
-Products
-Spares, Brackets & Components
-Roof Rack Parts
-Rhino-Rack Backbone
it's the second last item from the bottom of the page
(3 Base Mounting System - Prado 120 RTPB2) $459
cheers Dave

Thanks for the info! Anyone looking for a good deal, check out https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/332457826855 and use eBay code P5OZZIE. I just got the full setup for $1097

Welcome to PradoPoint!
Yes, there is enough room to get underneath the rack. I'm SEQLD/Northern GC myself, so if you want to have a look at it in person, shoot me a PM.

it is still secure as the cross bars are bolted to the backbone, interlocked to the rack & bolted down the centre of the rack. Plus it has bolts between the outside lip of the rack and at the rear cross bar in position R4 i think it was.

So you just rely on the plastic clips to hold your platform to the crossbars..... sounds really dangerous to me.
Imagine the entire platform flying off the top of your vehicle on the highway, you could quite possibly kill somebody.
Just because you couldn't be bothered drilling 4 holes.

I didn't bother to drill mine when I fitted it. I only put bolts through the rear mounting holes, but it is still secure due to the cross bars and other bolts etc.

Hi nick, no drilling required to fit the backbone itself, but i had to drill holes in the 2128mm long pioneer platform so it would fit to the backbone. See drilling instructions here:

Does the backbone system require drilling on the 150?

Doesn't look like it, but just want to check before I order it. It will actually be going on a GX460 if that makes a difference.
Thanks for any help!Last edited by nickk6; 08-11-2017, 02:57 PM.

Despite comments to the contrary I am still able to wash the roof of the vehicle.
I have drawers in the back and I can get onto the roof by standing on the top of the drawers and kneeling onto the rack
Heres a pic of ours loaded for our trip this week..........

I am getting a pioneer platform with backbone system and a 2.5m awning next week.
What size platform and awning do you have? I'm trying to get a gauge of size on the roof of my 150.
