  • Recovery points

Looking at installing a pair of Roadsafe recovery points (WLL 3250kg each). Much cheaper than ARB but lower WLL. I wanted to go the ARB but they couldn't guarantee fitting due to having an iron man bull.

Anyhow, thoughts on these roads are tow points?

I do a fair bit of beach driving so there's always the chance of getting bogged and needing to be snatched out
    Cheers Ryan

Had them on my 105 series landcruiser, good bit of gear and would say they are probably the most sold on the market ? And haven’t herd any complaints ? Just make sure your actual threaded hole/captive nut is in good order and not damaged, as this could be the weak point over the “rated” recovery points l..

and when you do a pre trip look around the car checking stuff “if you do, if not you should” check these for correct torque and for signs of wear/damage as a point comming off could end in a injuring or even worse death

I have the Road safety recovery points with an Iron-man bar on my 150. Fitted with no problems.

Which is less than the capacity of the OEM points, not sure what the benefit of fitting them is?

Sorry for my ignorance, what is the load capacity of the factory points. I am not an engineer or welder so how do you calculate the load capacity of a fillet weld? TIA.
As beach driving was the reason for asking about recovery points, what is the resistance weight of the vehicle bogged go it's chassis,

Agree the factory tiedowns look robust enough. But anyhows the Roadside are now installed. The way I see it, I've got these and the factory tie downs as a good back up.
