i have always been taught to never push a bonnet closed rather gently let it drop from 2-3 inches from its resting point or just enough to let if seat of the catch, but NEVER push it closed no matter what car reason being dents in metal and broken plastic

It can break when slamming bonnet, or rough handling, or corrugations.. I simply unbolted my broken one, cleaned it all up and used some aviation adhesive (Mastic) to stick it all back together.. Let it dry for 24 hours and its been fine since. I wouldn't be drilling screws into it.. Looks bad and not really needed when you can mastic it back up. I Had like 8 broken clips on mine, surprised it didnt fall off..
